Why are positions closed at -100%?

On UpTick we are a proponent of responsible trading. We thus default the stop-loss setting to -100% so you don't lose more than your invested capital on the trade. Since our stop-loss orders are not guaranteed, if the market jumps over the desired stop-loss level you may still lose more than your invested capital.
